Chess,
Elevated
Forever.
Pawnix is a smart chess board with a built-in digital clock and rules engine that knows the game as well as you do.
Smart Features
Built for players who know every rule.
Pawnix puts the rules where they belong — built into the board itself. Less time arguing, more time playing.
When an illegal move is detected, the clock pauses automatically and resumes only once the piece is returned to its original square.
Pawnix detects stalemate conditions and signals both players, so the game ends cleanly without any manual checking.
The board requires the king to be picked up first before castling can register — keeping the move fair and unambiguous every time.
The clock keeps running during promotion and only stops once the pawn is removed and a new piece is placed on the last rank.
The board tracks position repetitions and flags a draw when the same position appears three times — no pen and paper needed.
The clock won't start if pieces aren't in the correct starting position — so every game begins exactly as it should.
A dedicated button to start and pause the game at any point — clean, simple, and instant.
Add increment per move with a single press. Supports all popular time control formats.
Plug in via USB or run on batteries. Play anywhere — from your living room to your local club.

Our Story
Built by chess players, for chess players.
Pawnix was born out of frustration. After too many heated games derailed by rule disputes, missed illegal moves, and inconsistent timekeeping, we decided to build something better.
Every feature on this board exists because a real chess player asked for it. We didn't build a gimmick — we built the board we always wished existed.
